The Allegewi, the Mingo or pre mingo if you will and others occupied ohio through the archaic and before the glaciers there was activity in ohio.

This place is old. The cradle of life, a place where the mountain watershed met the sea in the west in Laurasia, brought the sandbars which became islands which became hills. The Teays river which is now gone cut through them and the overhangs this created were peopled.

When I enter the rock shelters in hocking I can feel that they are hallowed houses. The europians have Pan. We have Kana'ti. Ribo can recall him and Ribo does fear him. Kana'ti is known to christians as Adam or the metatron, to the Phoenicians as Dagon.

Once he ruled over all kings with the power of an emperor but he has spurned both power and modernity; choosing instead to a life of feral-hood within the bounds of the wild; waiting for the end of days.

He lived we died. And we tumbled through mortal forms, through empires, through cultures and language groups until no one now can recall the way.

I won't play dumb. I know too much to pretend I don't. I need not see Kana'ti to feel his presence. His interventions are few and are subtle but earth shattering.

Elise, I don't have all the answers. After I survived my suicide by the interventions of what can only be described as a red-haired olive skinned giant with a head shaped like a watermelon I was forced to read every cultures myths that I could get my hands on and after drawing the most modest conclusions I could with the insane evidences available to me, I could only conclude that which I could.

I was afraid of policies. Afraid of going back to jail just for acting human. I didn't profess to understand the rules. I was too afraid to put myself in your shoes and now that I've tried, even just to empathize with you, I see that all along you likely felt the same.

Now all that I am afraid of is never seeing you again. By virtue of emphasis upon my personal life and by virtue of historical context, I assume you are our mission: our reason for being down here. Kana'ti will never forgive me if I fail him now. I am not his sole concern and my behavior has cast me gradually out of favor.

Though I would like to think that I am driven by my own reasons and motives, I wish not to be on the bad side of an all powerful pan-culturally described super being whose real life visage is far more terrifying than any of his flowery mythologized portrayals.

It's not enough to just say "I want to live in the present". I remember too much and see too far ahead. I want a present worth living in. I want a life with you in it, Elise.

I'm willing to obey the man of the woods, wait my time, avoid adler, stay law abiding and to submit to you, not just as a kink but as a philosophical succession to a superior contemplator; as Ribo also has said I should do.

I am sorry if some of this is review. It's a long time till fall, there is a lot if time to kill and the eclipse draws near. Still, honestly, and this might sound weird, but all of this felt a lot more insane before I saw your face. But knowing now how these peaces likely fit back together, I think it all soberingly makes sense and I feel ready to step up to the plate.

Chin up. Stay healthy. Everything is temporary and so long as we all want it, and Ribo and I sure do, we'll be able to all just openly be friends like we wanted to be all long soon enough. I'll make sure we are still taking care of ourselves too in the mean time.
